The wise get their boilers serviced in the summer….adamroberts
Every year, without fail, the temperature drops and people put their heating on for the first time only to discover problems that lay dormant over the last few months. This usually starts as the kids go back to school and temperatures are cooling off.
Then you’re left scrambling around trying to get someone to fix it whilst everyone one else is doing the same. This is why we recently advertised in the Downend Voice to try and make people think ahead and book a service during the summer months so they are not left without heating and hot water when you need it most.
What is involved in a service?
Boiler components cleaned/checked where necessary:
- Ignition systems
- Seals (gas and water)
- Condensate traps
- Gas pressure and heat input to verify correct supply pressure
- Flue and termination check to ensure integrity and emissions are safe
- All visible pipework and controls checked for correct operation
- Radiators and valves
- Advice on how to use your boiler/systems controls
If your boiler is still under warranty by keeping the service record up to date ensures that the manufacture will honour the repair work needed free of charge should the boiler break down within the warranty period.
